Named for important figures in the home’s history, each room at Double Oaks has its own private bathroom, TV, and unique features. Discover your favorite or come back and try them all.

The H.T. Martin Room

Queen bed, double occupancy, $185/night

Named for the first owner of Double Oaks, Harden Thomas Martin, this room features a queen-size bed and fireplace. Formerly the music room where the Martin sisters taught piano, this ground floor room is decorated in creamy yellow with green accents. The large bath contains a six-foot clawfoot tub ideal for long, luxurious baths. Amenities: Bathtub/shower, Roku TV, Wifi, individual A/C

The Armfield

Queen bed, double occupancy, $185/night

Facing Mendenhall Street and with a view of one of the huge 200-year-old White Oak trees, this cozy second-floor room features a queen-size bed, private bathroom, and fireplace. Stylishly decorated in shades of green, it is named for the architect and builder of Double Oaks. Amenities: Shower, Roku TV, Wifi, individual A/C

The Forrester

Queen bed, double occupancy, $185/night

Nestled in the rear corner of the second floor, this room is named for the former owners of Double Oaks who helped preserve the house. This large room, decorated in calming neutrals, includes a queen-size bed, fireplace, and private bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower. Amenities: Bathtub/shower, Roku TV, Wifi, individual A/C

The Milam Suite

King bed, double occupancy, $255/night

This suite is named for the previous caretakers of Double Oaks who helped restore and renovate the house. The bedroom includes a king-size bed, fireplace, and an adjoining bathroom with a clawfoot tub. The spacious attached room includes a second fireplace, TV, desk, and a comfortable sofa and seating area. Amenities: Bathtub/shower, Roku TV, Wifi, individual A/C, desk

The Chandler Suite

King bed, double occupancy, $255/night

This third-floor suite is named for the first automobile owned by the Martin family, a 1917 Chandler, possibly the only one in Greensboro, as not many were produced. The bedroom includes a king-size bed, and the attached living room provides a comfortable seating area and small desk. The en suite bathroom features a double-headed shower. The Westerwood Suite

King bed, double occupancy, $255/night

This suite is named for the historic neighborhood in which Double Oaks stands. Located on the third floor, this two-room suite feels like you're living amidst the trees. The bedroom includes a king-size bed, and the living room provides a comfortable seating area and work station. The en suite bathroom features a large soaker tub with shower. Amenities: Bathtub/shower, fireplace, Roku TV, Wifi, individual A/C, desk

We're happy to take your reservation online or by phone. Rates are subject to state and local taxes.

Check-in/Check-out: Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m., though different times can be arranged with notice.

Cancellations: We understand that sometimes plans unexpectedly change. If you need to cancel your reservation:

  • More than one week before your check-in date: Full refund

  • Within 2-7 days before your check-in date: 50% refund

  • Less than 48 hours before your check-in date: Non-refundable

We can also offer you a credit for a future stay.

Breakfast: Breakfast is served from 7 to 10 a.m. daily, though we can sometimes accommodate special time requests. Our menu features regular staples as well as a rotating special, and guests may choose to eat in the dining room, on the porches, or in the library. Guests may also order and have breakfast delivered directly to their rooms.

Children: Well-behaved children ages 12 and up are welcome at Double Oaks, if accompanied by an adult at all times. If you have children younger than 12, arrangements can be made, but please call us to discuss your accommodations and needs.

Pets: We do not allow pet visitors at this time.

​

Smoking: We are a non-smoking establishment, but there is a designated space outdoors where you may smoke. Please dispose of your trash and be mindful of other guests.

​

Damage: Should any damage be caused by a guest, we reserve the right to charge the card on file for reparations.
