About the Chamonix Estate

Located in the Franschhoek Valley in South Africa, Cape Chamonix Wine Farm once formed part of the historic Huguenot Estate, La Cotte, which dates back to 1688. Today, Chamonix is known for its wonderful setting and abundant facilities, as well as award-winning wines and spirits.

Boasting some of the highest planted vines in the Cape Winelands, the farm is blessed with cool breezes during the hot summer months and stony, clay-rich soil, giving Chamonix wines their unique personality and style. A philosophy of minimal intervention and environmentally conscious farming methods are just some of their secret ingredients. They produce a range of premium wines that capture the essence and splendor of the estate.
